Who we are

Readscroll is an iPhone and Android app made by S-Block Technologies LLC ("we"). It turns EPUB and PDF files you already own into a feed you can scroll and read. This policy covers the Readscroll app.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal data, usage data, device identifiers or book content. Readscroll has no servers of its own, and nothing in the app sends data anywhere. The one exception is the sales record Apple or Google send us if you buy Readscroll Plus (see "Purchases" below).

On Android, the app does not request the internet permission, so the system does not let it go online. On iPhone, the app makes no network requests.

What stays on your device

To work, Readscroll keeps these things in its own private storage on your phone:

• Copies of the EPUB and PDF files you choose to import.
• The text it extracts from them, so the feed loads quickly.
• Your bookmarks, reading positions and settings, such as passage length.
• Four usage milestones you can see in Settings under "On this device": the first day you opened the app, opened a book, read for 5 minutes, and came back the next day, each with a count and the most recent day it happened. They hold no book titles, text, file names or times of day.

We never see any of this. The app's own logs record only internal IDs, error codes and timings, never book text or file names.

When you delete a book in Readscroll, its copy and its extracted text are removed. When you delete the app, your phone removes everything the app stored.

Files you choose

Readscroll only opens the files you pick in your phone's file picker. It does not ask for access to your photos, contacts, location, camera, microphone or other files.

Copying text

If you copy a passage, the text goes to your phone's clipboard, where other apps you use can read it, as with any copied text. Readscroll does not copy anything unless you ask it to.

Device backups

If you turn on iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google backup on Android, your phone may include Readscroll's stored books and progress in that backup. Apple or Google handle those backups under your own account and their own privacy policies. We cannot see or access them.

App stores

You download Readscroll from the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google may collect information about your download and use under their own privacy policies. If you have chosen in your phone's settings to share diagnostics with app developers, they may give us anonymous crash and performance reports that they prepare. Those reports do not contain your books.

Purchases

Readscroll is free to download. Readscroll Plus is an optional one-time purchase sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google take the payment under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your card details, name or email address.

To check whether you own Plus, Readscroll asks your phone's App Store or Google Play app, which checks with Apple or Google. Readscroll keeps the answer on your device. It sends nothing to us.

For each purchase, Apple or Google give us a sales record, such as an order number, the date, the price and your country or region. It never includes your books. We use these records only for accounting, taxes and refunds.

Children

Readscroll collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Readscroll handles data, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches the app. If a future version needs to collect any data, we will say exactly what and why here first.
