Overview
S-Block Technologies LLC provides KeelReel, a video player for your own Keel media server (a "node"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the KeelReel mobile app. KeelReel has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Your own node
When you pair the app with a node, it talks only to that node, at the address you scan or type. The node runs on your own computer, not on S-Block servers. Pairing sends your phone's device name (for example "Sam's iPhone") to your node so you can tell your devices apart. Your node then gives the app a device token, which the app keeps in your phone's Keychain or Android Keystore. The app sends your node the videos you browse and play, your playback positions, and any changes you make, such as following, pinning or sharing a collection. S-Block Technologies does not receive this information.
The free showcase
The app can also play a free showcase of public-domain and Creative Commons films from a server that S-Block Technologies runs. It needs no pairing and no account. Like any web server, it sees your IP address and which showcase titles and video data your phone requests. It uses your IP address only to enforce request and bandwidth limits, keeping the counts in memory. Its log records an IP address only when it refuses a request over those limits. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile or track you across apps.
Information stored on your device
Downloaded videos, settings and, in the showcase, playback positions stay on your phone. The camera is used only to scan a pairing code; no photos or video are saved or sent. You can remove this information by deleting downloads in the app or uninstalling it.
How information is shared
S-Block Technologies does not sell or share personal information. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect users, or to prevent fraud and abuse.
Security
KeelReel connects to nodes and to the showcase over HTTPS. We use reasonable safeguards, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. You control your own node and who it shares with.
Children
KeelReel is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices and requests
You can disconnect your phone from your node in the app's Settings, delete downloads, or uninstall KeelReel. For questions or privacy requests, email support@sblocktechnologies.com.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when KeelReel or legal requirements change. This page will show the new effective date.
