What Why Sudoku is

Why Sudoku is classic 9x9 Sudoku for iPhone and Android, with hints that explain their reasoning. Each hint is a step the app has checked for your exact board, and it comes with a Why? explanation. The app works fully offline, with no account.

Where are my games saved?

Your games and settings are saved on your phone. Why Sudoku has no account and no cloud sync of its own, so it doesn't move games between devices itself. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) may include the app's data and restore it on a new phone. Deleting the app removes the games from that phone.

How do I reset the app?

Delete Why Sudoku and install it again. This removes all your games, settings and progress from that phone. On Android, Google backup may restore the app's data when you reinstall it. To start fresh on Android, go to Settings, then Apps, then Why Sudoku, then Storage, and tap Clear storage instead.

Hints and assistance

In Settings, choose an assistance preset: Pure, Balanced or Guided. The preset sets how much help the app gives while you play.
