The short version
- No sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your chat messages go through our server to OpenAI so the AI can reply. We do not store the text of your messages. We do store the AI's reply, so we can review it if someone reports it.
- Your journal, notes, copying history and study stats stay on your phone.
- No ads. We do not sell your data. No tracking or advertising tools.
- You can delete your data at any time in the app: Settings, then Delete my data.
1. What we collect and why
Anonymous install ID
The first time you open one of our apps, it creates a random ID on your phone and keeps it in the phone's secure storage. The app sends this ID to our server to set up an anonymous user and get a sign-in token. Each app gets its own separate anonymous user, so our apps cannot link you across apps. With it we store your app language and when the user was created and last seen. We use this to run the service, apply daily limits and connect your subscription.
Your chat messages
When you ask a question or use a feature that needs the AI, the app sends to our server:
- your message, plus up to the last 20 messages of that conversation so the AI has context;
- the app language and the feature you are using;
- your answers to the short setup questions (for example your grade and subject, or how your faith is today), and in Covenant Tutor, the student's first name if a parent entered one.
Features that use the AI include the chat in every app, rosary reflections in Gracia, sermon summaries in Palavra (the notes you choose to summarize are sent), quiet time questions in Malsseum, and hints, check my work and recall quizzes in ThinkFirst, Soch and Covenant Tutor.
Our server sends this to OpenAI, which checks it for safety and writes a reply. We do not save the text of your messages on our server. We use your messages only to produce the reply. We ask for your permission before your first message is sent, and you can choose not to use the AI features.
The AI's replies
We store the text of each reply the AI sends you, linked to your anonymous user. We keep it so that if you or anyone reports a reply as offensive, inaccurate or harmful, we can review exactly what the AI said and improve our safety rules. If you report a reply, we also store the reason you picked and any note you write.
Daily usage counts
We count how many AI replies each anonymous user gets per day. We use the count to apply the free and premium daily limits.
Subscription status
If you subscribe, Apple or Google handles the payment. They send us a signed record of the purchase: the product, a transaction ID or purchase token, the start and expiry dates, whether it will renew, and whether it is a test purchase. We use this only to unlock premium features. We never receive your card details, your name, or your Apple or Google account email.
Technical logs
Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request details (such as time and the address requested) to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. Our own error logs do not include the text of your messages.
2. What stays on your device
These are saved only on your phone. We never receive them:
- your prayer journal (Gracia, Palavra);
- your sermon notes (Palavra), unless you tap summarize, which sends that note to the AI as described above;
- your Scripture copying history and accuracy scores (Malsseum);
- your study stats, brain report and weekly summary (ThinkFirst, Soch, Covenant Tutor);
- your chat history, setup answers, streaks and settings.
Share cards you make (such as a verse card or a brain report) are created on your phone and go only where you send them.
3. What we do not do
- We do not show ads.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We do not use tracking, analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not use your messages to train AI models.
4. Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our behalf:
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI (United States) | Your messages, recent conversation, setup answers and language | Safety checks and writing the AI reply. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes it unless the law requires otherwise. |
| Vercel (United States) | Requests to our server, IP address | Hosting our server |
| Neon (United States) | The stored data in section 1 | Database hosting |
| Apple and Google | Purchase verification requests | Checking and renewing subscriptions |
We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
5. How long we keep data
- Your message text: not stored by us. OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days, as above.
- AI replies, reports, daily counts and your anonymous user: kept until you delete them with Delete my data, or until we no longer need them to run and protect the service.
- Subscription records: kept while your anonymous user exists, and as long as needed for tax and accounting rules.
- Hosting logs: kept for a short time by our hosting provider.
6. Deleting your data
In any of our apps, go to Settings and tap Delete my data. This permanently deletes your anonymous user on our server, together with the stored AI replies, reports, daily counts and subscription records linked to it. It also clears the app's data on your phone.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings. If you still have an active subscription, you can use Restore purchases to unlock it again.
If you removed the app before deleting your data, email us at support@sblocktechnologies.com and we will help.
7. Children
Gracia, Palavra, Malsseum, ThinkFirst and Soch are for people aged 13 and older. They are not directed to children under 13.
Covenant Tutor is used by homeschool families. It is meant to be installed, set up and held by a parent or guardian. The parent agrees to the AI data use before the first message, controls purchases and parent settings behind a parent check, and supervises the student. The only personal detail the app asks for is the student's first name, which is optional and entered by the parent. A parent can review what the app stores, or delete it, using Delete my data or by emailing us.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without a parent's consent. If you believe this happened, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Faith and other sensitive topics
In our faith apps, what you write may reveal your religious beliefs, and in any app you may choose to mention your health or feelings. We treat this as sensitive. We use it only to answer you, we do not store your message text, and we never use it for ads or profiling. Please avoid sharing details you would not want an AI service to process, such as full names, addresses or health records.
If a message suggests someone may be in danger, the app shows crisis resources such as a local helpline. Our apps do not provide medical or mental health care.
9. Your rights where you live
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Because we do not know who you are, we may need your help to find your data (for example, by using Delete my data inside the app). We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
European Union, EEA and United Kingdom (GDPR)
We rely on: performing our contract with you (running the app you chose); your consent (sending messages to the AI, which you can withdraw by not using the AI features or deleting your data); and our legitimate interests (keeping the service safe and reviewing reported replies). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Brazil (LGPD)
You have the right to confirm that we process your data, to access, correct, anonymize, block or delete it, to portability, to know who we share it with, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to the ANPD (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
South Korea (PIPA)
You can ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information. Your data is transferred overseas as follows. You can refuse this transfer by not using the AI features, but the AI features cannot work without it.
| Recipient and country | Items | When and how | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAI, United States | Messages, recent conversation, setup answers, language | Over an encrypted connection each time you send a message | Safety checks and AI replies | Up to 30 days |
| Vercel and Neon, United States | Anonymous ID, language, AI replies, reports, daily counts, subscription records, IP address | Over an encrypted connection when you use the app | Hosting the service | Until deleted, as in section 5 |
Privacy contact: support@sblocktechnologies.com
India (DPDP Act)
We process your data based on your consent, which you give before your first message and can withdraw at any time by deleting your data. You have the right to get a summary of your data, to correct and erase it, to nominate someone to act for you, and to raise a grievance. Send grievances to support@sblocktechnologies.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
United States
We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws can ask to know, correct or delete their data using the contact above.
10. International transfers
Our servers and service providers are in the United States. When we move data from your country to the United States, we use legal safeguards required by your local law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your sign-in token is kept in your phone's secure storage. Access to our systems is limited and protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and collect as little as we can.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
